Signing documentation
Understand the completion certificate
Keep the completed PDF, signing record and content hashes together for later verification.
What the record supports
The signing workflow records consent and signer actions and produces a completion certificate with content hashes. These records help identify the document and the actions recorded during the process.
Keep the artifacts together
Store the completed PDF with its certificate and related signing record. If a filename is reused, use the content hash to distinguish exact versions. Do not assume that a renamed or edited PDF still matches the original signed bytes.
Separate signing from filing
A completion certificate does not itself establish notarization, recording of a deed or acceptance by a county office. Check the receiving authority’s actual requirements for any separate process.
