Terms of use
A signing tool supports an agreement. It does not replace judgment.
These Terms govern BL Sign. By creating, sending, opening, or signing an envelope, you agree to the provisions that apply to your role.
Effective August 31, 2026
Provider, authority, and consent
These Terms are an agreement between you and Michael Barber, operating BL Sign under BlackLabel Tech (the “Provider”). You must be legally able and authorized to use BL Sign for the document and participants involved. A sender is responsible for the document, signer selection, required disclosures, delivery, and a lawful basis for participant information. A signer controls whether to consent and sign. Do not impersonate another person or sign without authority.
Electronic records
BL Sign provides an electronic consent flow, field capture, timestamps, audit events, document hashes, and a completion certificate. It does not determine whether a document is valid, whether a signature is enforceable, whether a signer has capacity or authority, or whether a jurisdiction requires notarization, witnesses, paper, special disclosure, identity proofing, or another process. Obtain legal review for consequential documents.
Acceptable use
Do not use BL Sign for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, abusive, infringing, malicious, or unauthorized activity; bypass limits or security; send unsolicited bulk requests; upload malware; disrupt the service; or access another person’s envelope or data without permission. Some document categories may be unsuitable for ordinary electronic signatures under applicable law.
Content and privacy
You retain rights in your documents and grant BlackLabel the limited rights needed to store, process, render, route, deliver, verify, and support them. You represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions. The Privacy Notice describes audit data and the public verification record. Do not put confidential details in an envelope title.
Protected health information
Do not use the public BL Sign service to create, receive, maintain, or transmit protected health information for a HIPAA covered entity or business associate. The public service does not include a Business Associate Agreement. Regulated use requires separate compliance review, confirmation of the parties’ roles and safeguards, and any required written agreement before information is uploaded.
Availability, limits, and changes
The public free tier is currently limited to three envelopes per sender per day, up to 15 MB and eight signers per envelope, plus service-wide abuse controls. Limits and features may change. BL Sign may suspend harmful activity, maintain or modify the service, or discontinue it. Export completed documents and evidence you must retain; availability and permanent retention are not guaranteed.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BL Sign is provided “as is” and “as available,” without implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, title, non-infringement, legal sufficiency, enforceability, uninterrupted operation, or permanent retention. BlackLabel is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages or lost data, profits, revenue, or business. Aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid for BL Sign during the 12 months before the claim. Rights and liabilities that cannot legally be limited remain in force.
Law, termination, and contact
Alabama law governs these Terms without regard to conflict rules, and applicable disputes belong in a court with jurisdiction in Baldwin County, Alabama, unless controlling law requires otherwise. BlackLabel may suspend access for breach, security risk, or law. Provisions concerning content, evidence, ownership, disclaimers, liability, and disputes survive.
